I think this topic is a good one because music therapy is pretty interesting topic, and I think that the way you want to analzye it will work well.
You'r Purposes are very good. However, for the audience I don't think you need the one for people who are stressed. If you target more the music/psychology majors, then your porpose can be furthured into showing them how to help those who are stressed out.

this should be really interesting. i dont know much about music therapy and a friend of mine is majoring in it. you could probably interview her? that might not be relevent at all though. good luck =]
